If you're here, you're not alone

Does any of this sound familiar?

You're avoiding calls and letters from creditors.
Repayments eat your income, but the balance never moves.
You lie awake worrying about the mortgage, the car, the kids.
You don't know who to trust — or where to start.

You haven't done anything wrong. Irish law gives you more options than you think.

What's inside the guide

Plain answers to the questions keeping you up at night.

The four legal options for dealing with debt in Ireland

DRN, DSA, PIA, and bankruptcy — what each one does, who it's for, and how to tell which fits you.

How the Protective Certificate stops creditor contact

A legal pause — 70 days where calls, letters, and enforcement must stop. The first proper breathing space most clients have had in months.

How a PIA can restructure your mortgage and write off unsecured debt

Designed specifically to keep families in their homes. Walks through what's restructured, what's written off, and what's left.

The myths that keep people stuck — and the truth

"Bankruptcy is my only option." "I'll lose everything." "There's no way out." None of these are true for most people. The guide explains why.

The three steps to take this week

Concrete, do-them-tonight steps you can take before speaking to anyone — to get clear, get organised, and get back in control.

Honest answers

Common questions, answered straight.

Is it really free?
Yes — the guide is free, and so is your first consultation. There's no obligation to take things further. If a formal insolvency arrangement is right for you, fees are set by the Insolvency Service of Ireland and largely paid by your creditors, not by you.
Will downloading the guide affect my credit?
No. Downloading is completely private and has no impact on your credit record. To be straight with you: the formal insolvency arrangements covered in the guide (DRN, DSA, PIA, bankruptcy) do appear on your credit record for a defined period. The guide explains exactly how, for how long, and what the alternatives are.
What happens after I download?
You'll get the guide by email immediately. Over the following two weeks, I'll send you a short series of helpful emails about your options. You can unsubscribe any time with one click — and ignore them entirely if you'd rather just read the guide. If you'd like to talk things through confidentially at any point, the door is open.
I'm afraid of being judged. Is this really confidential?
Completely. As a Personal Insolvency Practitioner, I'm bound by strict legal confidentiality. Nothing you share — by email, phone, or in person — is ever discussed with anyone outside the process you choose. No one needs to know you've reached out unless you tell them.
Why should I use a PIP instead of MABS or a solicitor?
MABS (the state's free Money Advice & Budgeting Service) is excellent and a great first port of call for straightforward situations — the guide includes their contact details. A solicitor can advise on legal questions but typically can't act on the formal insolvency processes. A Personal Insolvency Practitioner is state-authorised specifically to handle DRNs, DSAs, and PIAs from start to finish — including negotiating with creditors on your behalf and filing with the court.
